It was inspired by the tv series supernatural. I've always had a thing about mysteries and the occult, about good and evil and all the things inbetween.

The latin quote 'bono malum superate' means to overcome evil with good.

This is the second in the "The Woods at..." series. I used 66 critters (butterflies, bugs, beetles and dragonflies) in this image; they were all public domain images from old books. The trees are hand drawn (by me) vector graphics and the ferns and grasses are brushes. I've added colours and textures to create depth. :-)

Each and every evening and sunset all the beetles, bugs, dragonflies and butterflies congregate to watch the sun set in technicolour and to catch the rays for their own colourful wings to keep them bright and pretty.

Insprired by the War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells. This was taken a while ago and then edited heavily (colours and tilt-shift blur plus textures) to create the effect. I love the colours and the feeling of being drawn into the image.

upon waking

The image was taken this week at the park. I lvoed the wonderful golden leaves of the beech trees, especially as a lot of the other leafy trees are still green. The poem came to me yesterday when I woke up, hence the title. My mind seems to be very active when I am asleep which explains why I am always so tired in the mornings. LOL

the many nights
that found the morning light
glittering on my cheeks
like shards of glass
and my heart
running through my fingers
into the ocean of
might-have-been
and never-will-be

Spring Glory

I love spring. By the end of winter I usually feel so depressed by all the grey and dreariness that spring can't come soon enough and the first little sign of it cheers me up no end. Through a Glass Darkly
