Six - Photo Manipulation

Inspired by the Sword of Truth series. This is Six - a witch woman. She's meant to be gaunt and ugly, however, I couldn't bring myself to 'uglify' the beautiful model, so this is a picture of Six early in her life, when the evil wasn't so pronounced and there was still a chance for the light....
The 'crown' is made from some of my own branches and stock and several pictures I took yesterday morning of raindrops caught in spiderwebs.
See Soul Eater - another photo manipulation inspired by the series:

Teal Deliciousness - Knitting

A while back I bought some Malabrigo Silky Merino Lace yarn in Azul Profundo. I made a shrug from it (which I can't show you just yet because I've worn it so often it needs washing.... LOL Yes, I love it!) I bought 3 skeins to make sure I'd have enough, however, I had enough to make a pair of wrist warmers and a hat as well... and there's still yarn left over so I might make a little scarflette just to finish off the yarn... :-) Teal loveliness. My favourite colour. All mine.

However, I have some more of the Malabrigo Baby Lace in other colours, so if you want to order some utterly soft and light wrist warmers with or without a hat, let me know and I'll see what I can do. :-)

This is why... - Photo Manipulation

This image was created originally to enter into the Still Life challenge in the Photo Manipulator's group on Redbubble.

I've recently been to a few Battle of Britain events (check out my previous entries in this blog for pictures: Muckleburgh Collection and Audley End) and I used some of the pictures I took at those events to create this still life. When I started I had no idea where it would lead me but it made me think what the Battle of Britain was all about and what the people fought for. Hope it all makes sense. :-)

Soul Eater - Photo Manipulation

My interpretation of Nicholas the Slide from the Sword of Truth series (Naked Empire)

I've always been fascinated by Nicholas the Slide because he seems such an evil character and at the same time he is utterly tragic because of the way he has been 'modified' and the pain it caused him then and until the end. His mantra in the story is "Hate to live, live to hate" which says it all as far as I am concerned.

Waiting - Photo Manipulation

Challenge entry for the 1st Birthday challenge of the Photo Manipulator's Group on Redbubble. The images below had to be used in the challenge. It was one difficult challenge to get all the images in and to design something that still made sense! Poem to go with it here.

Days out - Muckleburgh and Norfolk Coast

Yesterday we visited the Open Day event at the Muckleburgh Collection at the Norfolk coast. I am not usually that interested in military things however, there were a few items/exhibits that I found very interesting... and it was a heaven for taking pictures of interesting texures. :-) Those should make it into my textures folder in my DA account hopefully soon. So here are some interesting exhibits and shots:
Radar Dish
Missile
Full sized plane
Small planes hanging from the ceiling
Uniforms, weapons and other items carried by soldiers through the ages
Lorries
Tanks
And my favourite of all - an old BSA painted in desert beige
A special radio from their Radio Shack - I liked the brightly coloured buttons
A tank in action outside
The next stop on our trip was Happisburgh with it's fabulous lighthouse - you can read about it here, it has an interesting story.

The final stop on our trip was Winterton-on-Sea. Just a couple of coastal shots.
Just a bit of grass at the bank shot against the blue, blue sky.
Shore line with a windfarm faintly visible on the left.
