Waiting for the Tide

© Sybille Sterk
Do not copy or publish this in any way, shape or form without my written permission.

Photo I took a while back at the Suffolk Coast. It's one of my favourite shots, especially with the new curves I used on it to give it this almost (for me) ethereal feeling. I am so in love with this. :-) This is the kind of place I imagine when things are bad or I feel sad. I am sure you have a place like that, too, if not, you can share mine. :-)

Part of my new series of images for licensing on Arcangel-Images - use this code: SYST-00267

All images/textures/brushes my own or bought. Edited with Photoshop.

All my images are available on Redbubble, Artflakes, Society6 and Bluecanvas as prints, cards, posters, skins for laptops, Blackberry, iPhones and other phones (for the skins go to Bluecanvas).

Together

More boats at Orford. :-)
I felt this was such a romantic view, I had to do something with this. Normally I don't include text, but in this case I made an exception. I think it would be a fabulous card for an anniversary or to show support to a friend.

Stranded

I finally got to spend the day by the sea yesterday. After a really interesting visit to Bawdsey Radar Trust (check it out here) we made our way along the coast and stopped at Shingle Street and Orford.

This picture was taken at Orford. I loved the contrast of the peeling turquoise paint next to the red rust and the tattered beauty of the boat. (Click on the image to see it larger.) I had to remove the background for both shots as they were too busy and distracting and replaced them with a couple of sky pictures and added textures.

Days out - Suffolk Coast: Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Leiston Abbey

Last weekend I took lots of photos at the Suffolk Coast. Here are just a few tidbits.

Moot Hall

Beach

Swans at the Thorpeness lake - one Swan decided to use on of it's feet almost like a sail. :-)

The most wonderful 14th century abbey.

Some of those images (this is just a very small selection) will make it into my art and into the stock section of my DeviantArt account sometime soon, when I have the time. First I'll have to update my website... lots of good news coming (as soon as I am free to tell...)

At the Bottom of the Sea

My latest photo collage - number 8.

It has been inspired by the lyrics to the song 'At the Bottom of the Sea' by The Thermals.

I've used lots of my own pictures and textures, including:

- 2 pictures of the sea, both from the Suffolk coast,
- a picture of part of the Collosseum in Rome,
- a picture of some moss/clay soil on the Devil's Dyke in Reach, Cambridgeshire,

and the following textures from kind people on DeviantArt:

- Buzillo Grunge Textures
- Absynthium Stock Flame Textures
- Freaky665 Victorian Grunge

The jellyfish has been hand painted, and, although it's mostly anatomically correct, I've taken artistic license with it's colour. This particular jellyfish isn't normally red, but it works better with the rest of the collages and as they're all going to be used in the same calendar.... The bubbles have also been hand painted.

The image will be available on my RedBubble and DeviantArt pages as a print (and in various other forms) plus it will also be included in my soon to be released 'Soulscapes' calendar on Redbubble. I'll announce it here when it's ready. :-)

Abandoned - Photo Collage

Photo manipulation/collage.

I've used:

- A photograph of the sky over the Suffolk Cost (UK) and a photo of the beach.

- A texture from Lady Amdis Dark Symphony Textures

- A grunge texture from Buzillo

- A leaf photograph.

All the photographs have been manipulated with various filters.

Actually, this started out as a background for one of my paintings but then I decided it was lovely as it is and turned it into a picture. I am really pleased with the mood, the colours and the textures.

The image can be purchased as a print either via DeviantArt or RedBubble. :-)
