Old map of India with a vintage bracelet edited in Photoshop with words from Saint Augustine. :D

The perfect bag for storing your travelling literature:
Dream of your holidays over a steaming mug:
Lean back and relax:
... and a mug that will travel anywhere:
Or tell someone it's time to pack their bags and see the world with you:

Scent of Roses

© Sybille Sterk
Do not copy or publish this in any way, shape or form without my written permission.

Image created for the Facebook Group/Project 1/52. This is week 34.

I combined 3 images of a reflection of a rose in a water butt and played heavily with the colours/curves, added textures (bokeh, ripples and scractches) and the barbed wire.

The idea behind this image is that some memories, no matter how beautiful are just too painful to remember, but sometimes something like the scent of roses will make you remember anyway.

I wanted the area behind the barbed wire blurred  and vague but with bright distinct colours to show the dreamlike quality of memories and the way they are distorted by how we felt at the time or feel now.

Edited in Photoshop, all my own images.

All my images are available on Redbubble, Artflakes, Society6 and Bluecanvas as prints, cards, posters, skins for laptops, Blackberry, iPhones and other phones (for the skins go to Bluecanvas).

Cherished Memories

© Sybille Sterk
Do not copy or publish this in any way, shape or form without my written permission.

This is a photograph I took of a mobile I made a while ago. It was a prototype and still hangs in my living room window and every time I look at it, it makes me smile. The heart is from seaglass and it's a real sea urchin shell found on a beach somewhere in Turkey.

To me the image just speaks of memories, maybe of a treasured holiday on a magical beach somewhere.

Created with my own photographs in Photoshop, no stock used.

Long Ago - Photo Manipulation and Card

This is the print - an experiment of sorts. I wanted to see if I could create an image that has a vintage feel without feeling old fashioned. Memories seemed a good subject for this.

There is a poem to go with it, here.

The card is the same except the very pretty model has been removed and replaced with an extract of a few lines from the poem. I felt it worked better like this for a card.

Heart of Stone - Altered Art

Altered Art to accompany my poem Heart of Stone.

This one took forever to get right...

I used my own photos/textures together with the following,

Stock:

Textures:

The butterflies are Zebra Longwings and have been (digitally) hand painted in Corel Painter.

The heart is a shape from the Photoshop custom shapes combined with the 'some old rock' stock and blended in Painter, with texture added in Photoshop.

Faded Memories - Photo Collection

I've been experimenting with some of the photos I took in the grounds of Sawston Hall.

I wanted to create a dreamlike feeling, sort of looking back at childhood memories.

Some of the images use textures downloaded from DeviantArt and all of them have been heavily edited with the use of filters.

The above uses Colour Grunge texture 1 from Princess of Shadows.

Check out this texture collection by OneColdCanadian Abused Floor - number 19
I've also used an ivy picture from the same shoot.

The above image uses one of the Vintage Grunge textures by Princess of Shadows.

The above uses the Memories texture 1 by Freaky665.

No textures just filters on the above image.

I used lots of filters and two textures on this last image:

Texture 5 from texture_57 collection by Sanami276 and OneColdCanadian Abused Floor - number 15.
