Some new stuff

I've had a busy few weeks preparing for my next photo shoot, taking photos and editing and just life in general, I thought it was time for an update.

You can always follow me on instagram to see what I am up to...? :D

I've been making flowers...
playing with fimo:
painting:
playing with paper:
making flower branches:
painting masks (not finished):
and I've created these two:

Both are available in all of the usual places in various forms. :D
So, hope this explains the lack of posts... :D

Crafting

It's been a couple of weeks of crafting and all sorts of little things, in preparation for Christmas.
These are last week's fruits of my labour:
Hearts,

birds
and stars, wooden shapes covered in fabric (birds), paper and glitter: Ready to hang.

This is how I started off yesterday:
These bits of tissue paper became

flowers:
and then were attached to a wire frame:
which in turn was covered in at least 40 but more like 50 flowers to hang as a wreath on my door. :-)
These little fellows and their fellow bambi wooden shapes were first fixed up with some brooch pins and little hangers (or in the case of the bambis relieved of their bits of string),
then covered in a couple of coats of paint:
before they were painted individually, little owls
 and little foxes
and bambi had a coat of glitter applied:
They all still need a coat of varnish, then they can go off into the world, except for the bambis, the first lot of ornaments and the wreath, those are this year's Christmas decorations. :-) If you want a little owl or fox (pendant or brooch, colours available are brown, white and black), give me a shout, otherwise they'll go in my Etsy shop soon.

Marvin and Friends

Meet Marvin the Meerkat and his friends.

Marvin is the latest friend to join the group.

Patterns for all three will be available soon - I am in the process of typing them up and adding photographs. You will be able to get them either through this blog or possibly in my Etsy shop.

More animals to come. The next one I am making will be a raccoon, but also on my list are a bat, a pig, and maybe a kangaroo and a piebald rat. Any other ones you'd like to see?

Ferdinand and Fritz

Ferdinand the Owl
He is vegetarian and likes Yoda. (Yes, he told me that personally.)
Pattern can be bought here. I changed the pattern slightly because I wanted stripes and I made the ears pointier and added the little brushes at the ends. Nice pattern, easy to follow with detailed pictures.

Fritz the very sleepy fox
He likes raisins and the sound rain makes on the leaves in the forest.
Work in progress pictures:

Pattern can be bought here, but it's a little vague in parts. :-(

Both Ferdinand and Fritz were crocheted from perle cotton on a very small crochet hook and they are both tiny. Fritz is maybe 2.5" long (from the tip of the nose to the end of his back) and 1" tall, whereas Ferdinand is about 3" tall.

Busy week....

... so here is one I made earlier:
This was made for my sister and took forever. It's very delicate and like real dandlelion seeds gently sways in the slightest breeze. I love dandelions and dandelion seeds. They are so very pretty....

Summer Garden and Rockabilly

 MCN: CHUQA-RVQF5-L4QJD

A broken rake in my garden. I couldn't resist the wonderful rusty texture nor the beautiful shapes.

 MCN: CRXU8-AA7J8-NHHX3

Marguerites in a meadow. It was sooo hot that day and the light almost blinding.

Both images are available on Redbubble, Artflakes and Bluecanvas as prints, cards, posters, skins for laptops, Blackberry, iPhones and other phones (for the skins go to Bluecanvas).

Some Rockabilly fimo I made a little while ago and now finally managed to bake and glossify. :-) Soon to be made into bracelets and necklaces. Watch this space.

Mermaid's Lullabye - Mobile

This is my latest commission "Mermaid's Lullabye". It has been designed to go into a baby's nursery so the colours are soft and dreamy; the razor clam shells provide the mobile with a lovely sound and the mirrors add sparkle. It will go to Sue at Studio Window tomorrow.

If you want your own, use the contact button on the right-hand side to send me an e-mail. I don't bite!

Christmas Special - Jelly Bowl, Romance, Cold as Ice and Breeze

Cherry Red Jelly Bowl
This is a bowl entirely crocheted with jelly yarn and then embellished with furry dark red eyelash yarn. It is smaller than the Liquorice Jelly Bowl (see image below) but none-the-less perfect for odds and ends, cosmetics or, with Christmas coming up, why not line it with some tissue paper and display some nuts. It's not a good idea to display other food in the bowl as the jelly yarn has a slight smell that might affect the food. If you have a glass bowl of a similar size, put that in the jelly bowl first before adding the fruit or other food. The bowl can be wiped with a damp cloth. £20 + P&P

Romance - Two Tone Necklace (Red and Gold)
Made from a huge selection of beads, mostly glass, vintage and new with vintage filigree and chain in brass. Long necklace, but can be modified free of charge so it can be worn double. £30 + P&P
Cold as Ice - Two Tone Necklace
(White and Silver)
Made from a huge selection of beads, mostly glass but with a fee lucite and resin beads, vintage and new with vintage pewter filigree and silver plated chain. Long necklace, but can be modified free of charge so it can be worn double. £30 + P&P

Breeze - Two Tone Necklace (Blues and Greens)
Made from a huge selection of beads, mostly glass, vintage and new with vintage filigree and blackplated chain and findings. Long necklace, but can be modified free of charge so it can be worn double. £30 + P&P
All will be available at my jewellery party or you can snap them up now... :-)
