Snail's House

There's something so pretty about snail shells. I love the beautiful way the curve around and around. I know, as a gardener I hate the owners of these little houses, too, but this one had been discarded and was empty of any evil doer.
I leave you with an Emily Dickinson quote (as can be seen on the t-shirts):
Where thou art, that is home.
My own images plus bought resources.

dreams and visions

I am not sure if I can explain this one or if it even should be explained. Flower petals (peony) a small snail shell and a feather. Dreams and visions are made of very little that's substantial, at least in a material sense, they require us to withdraw into ourselves (shell) and find our wings, so we can float like petals off a blossom in an inner space that grants us dreams and visions...
All images and textures my own or bought. Edited with Photoshop.

written in ink

I am still playing with feathers. I wish I had wings or a tail like a mermaid. :-) This one's about fairy tales and how our lives are written in ink.
Feathers are I think from a blackbird (a cat may have run off with the rest of it). A couple of stones and a snail shell from my garden. A creative spark....
All other images/textures/brushes my own or bought. Edited with Photoshop.
All my images are available on Redbubble, Artflakes, Society6 and Bluecanvas as prints, cards, posters, skins for laptops, Blackberry, iPhones and other phones (for the skins go to Bluecanvas). You can now also get most of my images on cushion covers (go to Society6 for these).

where the sky touches the sea

There is something special about places where two elements or two opposites meet. They are a places where anything can happen, where anything is possible, they are magic and romantic, they may even transform us. I've always had a thing for mermaids. Maybe one day I will become a mermaid.

MagpieMagic Featuring Skunkboy Creatures
Below is Ben's belated birthday Narwhal from the lovely Katie of Skunkboy Creatures. Ben only told me the day before his birthday that he'd really like the Narwal or I'd have ordered it in time. However, it arrived very quickly and is the cutest thing ever. He is very pleased with it. :-)

He's all handmade and handstitched with a lovable smile.
... and his lovely stripey horn.
Narwhals are REAL creatures although they look like they're from some fairy tale. Unicorns of the sea....

And since I was ordering already I treated myself to this cute snail.
How could I (or anyone for that matter) resist this sweet shy little smile?

Katie's Etsy shop is closed this week, but check it out next week.
