Quick update - Featured in the Treasury and Presents
It's been a busy few days - working on the allotment all weekend to get the soil ready and planted, knitting like mad to finish a birthday present and so on, and on....
However, I did have a nice surprise as my Dragon Lace wrist warmers are currently featured in a list for the Treasury West on Etsy. I am very pleased about that. :-)

Here are - as promised - the pictures of the wrist warmers and shrug I made for my sister. I hope they've arrived now.
Vanilla Wrist Warmers
My sister wanted a pair of white wrist wamers. I thought really, really white would be totally impractical so made them in Sirdar's Just Soya in a vanilla cream colour.

They are very simply knitted with a ribbed pattern and one single cable to hold their shape nicely around the wrist.

A few buttons in my sister's favourite colours jazz them up a bit.

The Just Soya yarn (really, it is made from soya) is one of the nicest yarns I've knitted so far. It's soft and holds its shape nicely and it looks great knitted up. I can only recommend it.

Emerald Shrug
It took forever and a day to find the right colour in cotton for this shrug. I ordered a few green yarns from the net before I managed to find this on www.yarnstick.com.
The shrug is knitted starting with the cuff, then all the way up to the shoulder with half the back. Then I did the same for the other side and grafted them together with Kitchener stitch.
The cuffs have button holes for the satin ribbon laced through it, which looks pretty but also means the cuffs can be adjusted for various wrist sizes.
The back also has button holes and satin ribbon laced through. Shrugs of this design often slightly balloon out at the back and this allows a nice snug fit that can be adjusted as required.
The collar was knitted separately by picking up the stitches all around the opening (and took forever as there were so many stitches, especially as the stitches increased every so often), but again, it looks nice and makes it easier to wear.
The yarn is the most gorgeous (true) emerald green and was held double. It was lovely to knit with and drapes nicely.
I am currently working simultaneously on a present for a friend and a top for myself.

Featured...
I just discovered Craft Cult, where you can check if your Etsy items have recently been featured on Etsy's front page, Storque or one of the gift guides.
Seems my turquoise and gold silk flower garland made it on the front page and one of the gift guides - Shades of Emerald. :-)

Etsy Treasury Featuring: Forget-Me-Knot Necklace
Janneke from Blue Heron Quilts kindly included my Forget-Me-Knot necklace in her Spring Greens Treasury.

'The Treasury is a member-curated gallery of short-lived lists of 12 hand-picked items each (plus four alternates). It functions as a high-demand (and pretty!) promotional tool that many devoted Etsians fight to get. Members can feature their favorite items, items selected on a theme, or just however they like. The Treasury is not intended for self-promotion, but instead to acknowledge and share the many cool things for sale on Etsy. Admin often choose an exceptional Treasury list to promote on the home page and occasionally make them to tie into Storque articles or special events and occasions.' (Quote from Etsy.com)

There are lots of lovely items in the treasury which is why I am especially happy that my necklace was included. Make sure you check out all the items, including Janneke's beautiful and unusual quilts.
Here's one of them:
Stilt

Janneke also has a jewellery shop on Etsy, Blushing Mermaid. My favourite is this one:
Fairy Berries

Note: Pictures published with permission from Janneke.

The Last Three
The last three of the re-drawings, although the two spiders I only re-touched as they went a little fuzzy when I scaled them. Didn't stop till gone past 1 o'clock last night.
Leafy L
I like the new design - although not drastically different - better. The colours are slightly more subtle and there is a little more detail. I might make more of these letters (possible a whole alphabet) and offer them on Etsy as prints or custom orders for names. Decided to have a 2nd Etsy shop for my prints. The flowers (orchids and bird of paradise) will be sold as prints as well.

Black Widow
It might have been quicker to re-draw it from sketch as the lines are so detailed and fine. However, it's done now and it looks as nice and clean (if not better) as the original.

Red Back Spider
Again, drawing from scratch may have been quicker, but this is still the original design just more than twice the size. :-) Very scary. LOL

My Lovely New Hat!!!
My gorgeous new hat finally arrived a couple of days ago. Another Etsy find. :-) Etsy is going to be my downfall... so many gorgeous things, so little time!!! ;-)
Presenting,
The Sweetheart Hat
It is absolutely gorgeous and can be worn lots of different ways - check out Terry Graziano's Etsy shop, she makes the most gorgeous, versatile hats. She also has a website and a blog, if you're interested in finding out more. The hat is made of sturdy denim with silky satin bows (one on the outside and one on the inside that allow adjustments to the hat) and a gorgeous silk lining in a delicious fuchsia pink.

The other hat I really, really liked was this one, called Maven... oh, and all the others!!!

The Sweetheart hat is the 2nd hat I bought on Etsy - I have real trouble finding hats 'off the shelf' as I have a small head and most hats are too big for me. The real clincher is that I love hats! Especially cloches.
The nice thing about buying things on Etsy is that you buy from the people who make the stuff you buy, which is far more fun than buying it from some high street shop and I found all sellers friendly and helpful. And it's so nice to have something that's been made just for you, especially if you have particular requirements...
The first hat I bought was from Boring Sidney - check her Etsy shop for pictures. Below you can see her Waves and Pretty in Pink hats. I bought the Black Velour Bow Cloche.

There is also a UK seller on Etsy who sells lovely little 'hatlings' - Kankalin Hats. If you have a good idea why I would need a hatling, please tell me, I am desperate for an excuse to buy one as they are sooooooo gorgeous. My favourite is the Shy violet project - flesh flower.

Enough about hats. Will post some jewellery soon, promise... Just have to get my head round finishing some of the on-going projects, but this horrible, rotten cold is making things very difficult...
