Three images of an autumnal willow. I love the detail on these shots. And three images of the wood in autumn. I love going to the woods and seeing all the colours any time of year, even in winter when the colours are mostly black and white. There's something so peaceful about a forest.

All six images were shot last weekend by me and have been edited with (bought) textures and actions from Apples & Sisters in Photoshop.

Either or both would make a great Christmas present. :-)

All my images are available on Redbubble, Artflakes, Society6 and Bluecanvas as prints, cards, posters, skins for laptops, Blackberry, iPhones and other phones (for the skins go to Bluecanvas).

Commissions from Jewellery Party

Pear Blossom Earrings

To match the original Pear Blossom Set.

I've used slightly less verdigris and more acrylic varnish on the earrings as I was worried about the verdigris touching the sensitive skin round the neck, however, they're still a good match and will darken over time.

Willow Earrings V 2

See the originals here. The Willow earrings were a great hit at the charity event at Caroline's house. I sold the originals and got a commission to make another pair.

These are slightly different as I changed the flower for a different one and the leaves are handmade (cut from copper, hammered and bashed and scraped and scratched for texture and then filed and sanded to avoid sharp edges).

Warrior Princess Set

The earrings were commissioned to match the bracelet I made a while ago. I was sure I'd posted here before and then couldn't find it anywhere. Odd!

The earrings are more delicate than the bracelet as they would have been too heavy. I used new lovely faceted cathedral beads with copper detail to match the original emerald green bead in the bracelet.

Here's the original bracelet which I had to make slightly smaller. It has always reminded me of something I'd imagine a warrior princess to wear. It's bold and it's strong and it's lovely. The oxidised copper works really well with most skin tones as there's a lot of variation in the colour.

The beads used in this are both vintage and each has it's own charm. One is similar to a tigereye bead with darker and lighter striations and the other one is a deep dark emerald green with gorgeous facets.

Late Afternoon in the Park

Last week, when I needed a break from all the rushing around, knitting, wrapping presents and organising Christmas, I went for a walk in the park with my camera. I took lots of photographs for a new project, but also a few just for fun which I then played around with in Photoshop (TM).

This one was through the branches of a willow tree at the late afternoon sky:

This was through the branches of a different tree. I like the almost Rackham quality of the image.

This is the sunset all in peaches and apricots with a few dashes of vanilla. Looks almost edible to me:

This one reminds me of a horror movie. Maybe the view out of a frosty window.

This one was another picture of the early evening sky but I changed it so much that it now looks like a print on silk. I love the 'Japanese' quality of it.

Finally, the willow tree. I love willows and the rustling of their leaves in the wind. The original photo looked dreary and grey - like a proper English winter - but this now looks like a woodcut where you see the lovely lines made by the tree trunk and the branches. You can also just see the birches in the background.
