Cthulu

My interpretation of Cthulu - 'a fictional deity created by writer H. P. Lovecraft and first introduced in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu", published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales in 1928' (from Wikipedia)

A mix of textures, brushes and public domain images all mixed up in Photoshop. I love how it turned out. :D Hope you do too. :)

Take Cthulu with you and fill him up with coffee. :D

High in the Sky

Just imagine all the different places clouds see... that's what inspired this work of vintage art. A combo of public domain images and bought resources mixed up in Photoshop. I love the idea of fish seeing the world from the sky. I am sure they'd love it. :D

rain, rain come again

Another a digital collage of images from various (vintage) resources, including some I bought, some which are in the public domain and some from The Graphics Fairy, Vintage Printable and Karen's Whimsy. I added my own flair and and imagination and a little magic to make this.

I didn't realise quite how long it's been since my last post. This image was started 2 weeks ago, but a party, a hangover, Christmas and a cold later.... here I am with the finished result:
It all started with the cute skeleton deer. I just wanted to make something with this. It reminded me of winter and the bare winter branches and how spring mostly starts with rain and that's how it came about. I can't wait for spring. :-) I doubt it will rain fish, but there will be wind and new leaves and lovely cloud shapes in the skies.

There is something about inquisitive minds. Sometimes ideas are just sparkling and flitting through, at other times thoughts require more pondering.
A whimsical conceptual artwork that considers those who like to think deep thoughts.

Love burns brightest in the dark

The background of the illustration is a page from a whaler diary and I combined mostly deep sea fish (where it's darkest) with romantic and not so romantic ideas about love. It's about the darkness we all sometimes find ourselves in but also the love that shines so bright as to help us find a way out of the darkness. Make of it what you will. :-)

everything's connected

Another steampunk inspired image - a mix of bought and my own resources. The shell was found in my garden and duly photographed. The rest are bought or public domain images combined together to make this image as an example of how everything is connected to everything else.

The words are by Friedrich Nietzsche: Invisible threads are the strongest ties. The font is a bought resource called Justice, which can be found on http://sickcapital.com
