Image of my beautiful butterfly ring and some ribbon. Edited with light leaks and colour adjustments.

Sometimes we make too many excuses and there always seems to be tomorrow, but what if there isn't? We never know what tomorrow may bring, so we better make the most of today.

The quote is by Rabindranath Tagore and the font is Ellennn.

Birth - Photo Manipulation - Diptych

This one is a hard one to explain and I hope it is mostly self explanatory. It started off with the idea of birth - all the different things mixed up together which make up a new being. This got me thinking about the connections we have to everything else and how as children we take these connections for granted. Whilst growing up we often lose this feeling of being connected and have to recapture it later on (if we're lucky). So all that is in there, somehow hidden within all symbols and effects... It would have worked as a single image rather than a diptych, but I wanted to separate the physical and spiritual births.

I've specially created some fractal brushes for this image which I'll be posting soon. If you're interested in Photoshop brushes, keep an eye out for them... There will be some other brushes too (flowers, snowflakes and more gothic/victorian brushes plus some grunge brushes).

Svaha - Photo Manipulation

This is the illustration to my poem. Both were inspired by a Charles de Lint novel of the same name. In the novel 'Svaha' = (SVA-ha) means the time between when you see the lightning and when you hear the thunder - (Native American, tribe unknown).

Although a little research showed that this may be a myth and that the name is actually of Indian origin and is used as a mantra or the name of a goddess or both...

However, to accomodate both ideas (although I prefer the first one) I added both to the poem and image.

The novel is pretty good, and I just love the idea of that moment when you see the lighting and wait for the roar of the thunder. A pretty special moment as far as I am concerned.... :-)
