The Road Ahead

A nasty cold has prevented me from doing very much this week. However, here's one I prepared earlier. The image was taken in Cambridgeshire, edited in Photoshop and furnished with a quote by Lewis Carroll. The font is Pacific Northwest by Cultivated Mind.

The Right Road

Quick pic taken a while ago. I have a thing about horizons and roads. I find them enticing and forever fascinating. The quote is by Dejan Stojanovic, a Serbian poet.

On the Road Again

Country lane in Cambridgeshire, UK. Inspired by the song 'on the road again' by Willie Nelson. Country music is not my thing normally but there are exceptions and this seemed to fit perfectly.

Edited with Photoshop.

the road goes ever on

The words are by Tolkien from a song mentioned in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. There are various versions of it. The image was taken at the Gog Magog Hills in Cambridge. It's a lovely quote and it talks (to me) of adventure and new beginnings, of excitement and things beckoning. It's also a good metaphor for life, because no matter how much we want to stay sometimes, life goes on, which sometimes is a good thing and sometimes not so good, but we don't get to choose.

the long road home

Home is a strange thing. It's made up of lots of little things and we never know what they are until we lose them and have to find them anew.

You can read the poem quoted in the image here

I lost my way
amongst the stars
infatuated by a
gleaming blue light

The High Place

© Sybille Sterk
Do not copy or publish this in any way, shape or form without my written permission.

This is a mystical high place where we make our choices and where everything is possible. There is mystery and hope and possibility and magic.

The image has been constructed from my own photographs using Photoshop and one of my freebies - Cool Vintage Curves available here - (I used golden sunrise). The original image had a boring sky so I added more clouds and the birds and played around with colour and textures.

The Open Road

MCN: C2R7P-GP96P-RDPJH

This was taken whilst driving home one day (I wasn't driving, just in case you're wondering). I loved the vista and the promise of the open road. A sort of Thelma & Louise feeling...

Travels With An Umbrella - Photo Manipulation

Another mock bookcover. They ARE great fun. :-)
Only after I added the title and the image was almost finished did I realise that it looked a bit like a dark version of a Mary Poppins novel... Now there's an idea. LOL

The Witch is Dead! - Photo Manipulation

Welcome to the alternative, dark version of Oz, where the witch is well and truly dead (although, personally, I think that's a shame), where the Tin Man has been turned into scrap metal and the Lion into barbecue. ;-)

Read the interview here.

Inspired by the interpretations of Oz as found in Stephen King's Dark Tower series and Tad Williams' Otherworld
