The Road Ahead

A nasty cold has prevented me from doing very much this week. However, here's one I prepared earlier. The image was taken in Cambridgeshire, edited in Photoshop and furnished with a quote by Lewis Carroll. The font is Pacific Northwest by Cultivated Mind.

Quick pic taken a while ago. I have a thing about horizons and roads. I find them enticing and forever fascinating. The quote is by Dejan Stojanovic, a Serbian poet.

The words are by Tolkien from a song mentioned in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. There are various versions of it. The image was taken at the Gog Magog Hills in Cambridge. It's a lovely quote and it talks (to me) of adventure and new beginnings, of excitement and things beckoning. It's also a good metaphor for life, because no matter how much we want to stay sometimes, life goes on, which sometimes is a good thing and sometimes not so good, but we don't get to choose.

The words are by Tolkien from the poem from the poem All that is gold does not glitter, the image was taken at the Gog Magog Hills in Cambridge. I always loved the quote because it made me wonder about the world that is out there. It's the ultimate traveller's quote, well, there is one other... also by Tolkien, but that's for tomorrow. :-)

The View

Taken a little while back in Cambridgeshire on a 'photo walk'. I loved the way the view was leading the eye towards the horizon. The day was almost as sunny as it looks but nowhere near as warm.

Week 8 of my 1/52 project. This time I went for more subtle lines - the shadows at the front and the horizon itself. This image has been fairly heavily edited as I had a telephone mast in there and some trees at the back which distracted from the lines. I've enhanced the colours and the depth and added the grungy vignette.

You Just Are

A combination of two images (the original field image didn't have a pretty horizon) and textures and colour and other effects added in Photoshop.

All my own images.

My own words, from my poem, you

as you dance each step of your life

to the melody in your head

and the rhythm

made by the passing

of the seasons

A celebration of who we are, of our uniqueness and the path we've come already and the mystery of where it will lead us.
