Variations on a Moth

The other night I found this moth on the wall in the bathroom. Unfortunately, it was night and the moth near the ceiling, so not ideal conditions. This was the best of my pictures in my attempts to capture how pretty it is...


And here are the variations after playing with it and applying filters. The bottom picture is my favourite.

Pictures from the Seaside

We spent a fantastic day at the Suffolk coast yesterday, starting with the best fish & chips ever at Dunwich (where all the pictures were taken).

Here you can see a rusty (but still working) winch in the foreground and the fish & chips place at the back.

I didn't want to take much time to mess around with photos so they were all quick shots - more as a memento than for artistic quality - so I played around with them today. :-)

We brought back lots of fresh fish and seafood - you just can't compare the fish you buy in the shops with freshly caught fish. I'd happily eat fish like that every day of the week.

We were so lucky with the weather too - it was hot but not too hot, with a slight breeze and we found a lovely tearoom by the beach in Orford Ness to end the day.

WOW - my first sale on RedBubble

This is so cool. I have been on RedBubble for less than a week and I’ve already sold a greeting card.

In fact, the welcome so far was lovely. I had lots of really nice comments from everyone and lots of people have added my pictures to their favourites.

I am ever so glad I joined. It’s a huge ego boost and it’s so nice to be appreciated and get positive feedback on your art. Let’s not forget sometimes our art is ‘our soul on a plate’ and it’s hard to get it out there and let people judge it.

So this was a fab thing to wake up to. :-)

Panier Avec L'Oiseau - Cage with Bird

Something different for a change. Been drawing the last couple of days.

The picture was created in Corel Painter and I've used lots of different techniques/brushes to create it. Not quite sure why the title of the picture had to be French but... just needed to be.

I am thinking about putting some prints of my pictures in my Etsy shop, mainly my dresses and some lily pictures I did recently, and, of course, the picture below and any others I do in this series. The lily pictures are not quite finished yet, but I'll post them soon.
