Glorious Glass

I bought the most glorious beads on Etsy last week and they arrived today - all the way from Canada in under a week. I bought them from Firedance Beads and he kindly let me use his beautiful photos to show you all what I bought.

Here they are:

Bluesy Pink 1

Clearly Rose

Red Stones 2

Black Obsidian Swirls 2

Black Gold

This is just a small selection of all the wonderful beads in Firedance's Etsy shop. The ones I just HAD TO HAVE. LOL

Can't wait to make something with them, but as you all know, anticipation is half the fun. Have to finish my current project first... Something sweet in pink... You'll see. :-) Meanwhile, why don't you all go and check out Firedance's Etsy shop - but don't buy all the beads, leave some for me!!!

My New Bike!!!

Ta Da!!! My new bike!

I hadn't really set out to buy a motorbike this weekend, but when the opportunity arose, well, how could I say no to this cute bike? There was just no way!!!

It's a Royal Enfield 350CC Bullet, a lovely coral red (well, almost everywhere, apart from little bits where the paint has flaked off - it adds to its charm) and it's just so cute it makes you grin all the time.

Needs a bit of work and an MOT, but then I'll be up and running... I hope, it's got a kick start and the gears are on the wrong side. It'll go from 0 to 60 in about 4 days and and it'll only ever reach 100mph if I drive it off a steep cliff. But, hey, it's a 1981 bike based on the original 1955 design and has been imported from India some time back. It's been around the block and so have I, so we'll get on fabulously.

Just wanted to share...

Mural

I've been busy redecorating the house. Not that I am anywhere near finished, but this was the first step. I bought myself the most gorgeous black mirror and the perfect place was over the cast-iron fireplace in the bedroom. However, that meant I had to paint over the original design that I had created specially for the fireplace wall.

Here it is:

I first created the new design on the computer so I'd get a feel for what went where. I find it easier to do such things on the computer as you can move them around a lot easier until everything is just where it ought to be. :-)

Here's the new design in chalk on the wall, this time drawn freehand:

And here's the new design all handpainted with a mix of the original raspberry red wall paint and black acrylic paint (a blackberry colour rather than the black it appears to be):

Sorry for the quality of the photos - red is notoriously difficult to photograph and the light in the room is awful for taking pictures, especially with a flash as the paint is reflective....
