Snow Queen - Photo Manipulation

Illustration from my fairy tale series - see the other images in my gallery. :-) I've always loved Andersen fairy tales since I was little. There's something special, thoughtful about them. Something that explores the grey areas rather than just trying for the black and white... This is one of my favourites. :-)

    Oh how I loved The Snow Queen as a child! I had an old book of Anderson fairy tales with wonderful illustrations which was well read - this was one of my favourites even though it was kind of scary. Still makes me feel the same now - you've illustrated it beautifully.
    (The Tinderbox frightened me witless!!)

    One of my fave stories, too. I love the way you layer the textures. If I try that, all I get is a jumbled mess! LOL!
