I've had a busy few weeks preparing for my next photo shoot, taking photos and editing and just life in general, I thought it was time for an update.

Long time no see... Ranunculus

So it's been a while. I had this nasty cold that was going round and it took a bit of time to shake it off and catch up with everything. However, I am back and here are some ranunculus I bought at the weekend. Aren't they pretty? Photographed in natural light and edited in Lightroom and Photoshop - mostly colour adjustments to make them look as bright as they look on my table. :D

I love magnolias. They are so amazing with the big blowsy and waxy blossoms in all shades of pink, lilac and cream, and some of them looking like stars. It doesn't get much better than that. :-)

January Rose

Trust me to go out for a photo shoot in the snow and ice and come back with a picture of a rose. I didn't expect to see a fully opened red rose in the middle of January... but there you go, one of those things. It looked so pretty that I couldn't resist it, however by the time I was finished editing it, there was no winter left.... LOL

Nostalgia, Flirt and Kiss

Nostalgia is a close-up picture of my beautiful white roses fairy lights. They're made of fabric and look almost realistic. I have a thing about fairy lights. Some might say an obsession. LOL However, I love looking at them when it gets dark outside, they always make me smile. The font is called Harting.

Kiss is another close-up picture of one of my fairy light chains. This one is brand new and has beautiful fabric lotus flowers in shades of red on it. The font is Mountains of Christmas.

Winter Blossom I

This was taken in my garden in the fog a couple of days ago. I am not quite sure what this winter flowering shrub is but it looks very pretty with its waxy pale pink flower baskets. I love the way the stark bare branches look against the pale winter sky. It always reminds me of the beginning of the Snow White fairy tale.

"Once upon a time in the middle of winter, when the flakes of snow were falling like feathers from the sky, a queen sat at a window sewing, and the frame of the window was made of black ebony. And whilst she was sewing and looking out of the window at the snow, she pricked her finger with the needle, and three drops of blood fell upon the snow. And the red looked pretty upon the white snow, and she thought to herself, "Would that I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the window-frame."

Unfinished Story

Actually, I am not sure if it's meadow sweet, however, it's beautiful whatever it is. I love the ethereal quality of the 'flower baskets' and tried to convey that in the way I edited it. :-)
